ACADEMIC TEAMS

Each year SGHS students get to put their brains to the test and compete in academic competitions focused on Math and Science.

The Herders have competed in the MCMT Math Contest for over 20 years and have a long history of success. Main advisor Janice Novotny and our students are poised to repeat as champions in the Junior & Senior division and will look to improve on their second place finish in the Freshman & Sophomore division.

The Herders also regularly compete in the Academic Olympics at MSU Bozeman. Last year, a young group of students made it to the 5th round of competition and they will be looking to make it farther this coming year.
