I began teaching at SGHS in 2011, and I am proud to continue my career as a Herder. I earned my BA in French and English at Montana State University. Go Bobcats!
This year I will be teaching Frontier Lit, Speech and Debate, Communication Arts I, Lang and Lit, Comp, Journalism I & II, Themes, Sci Fi, and Poetry. I am thrilled to be back. I love reading with my students and discussing the fabulous books we have the privilege to study and analyze.
My husband and I love Montana especially the Crazy Mountains. My family has deep roots and I inherited a love affair with the Crazy Mountains which has spanned many generations. Shawn and I have four children. Our daughter, Brannin, graduated from Northwest College with her business degree and is now attending beauty school in California. Reilly attends SGHS and Rory attend school at BTGS. Kathryn is our newest addition and keeps us very entertained.
Besides teaching, my passions include reading, travel, photography, volunteering, being outside, and spending time with my family. I love traveling in the summers with the International club and the experience of new places with my students.
I am always reading something outside of class, which means I usually have at least four books going at any given moment. Talk about books with me - you will earn major brownie points!
I spend my weekends running after my kids, reading, preparing for classes , and if I am lucky sometimes the lake.
You can usually find me hanging around my classroom before and after school. Please do not hesitate to track me down. I encourage you to make the most of your moments here. I have high expectations for my classes, so be prepared to stretch you mind, spirit, and aspirations.
