Course Description:

Students learn basic design and construction skills using technical fabrics to make projects for the outdoor/sports industry. The skills will introduce and prepare students for employment opportunities in the outdoor/sports industry. This course will strengthen comprehension of concepts and standards outlined in STEM education. Students will gain skills in sewing, fabric use (Gore Tex, Polar Fleece, Nylon, Cotton, Polyester, and Wool). Construction projects would consist of but not limited to: hammock, backpack, ski-type mask(Balaclava), first aid roll kit, sleeping bag pillows for camping, stuff sack, mittens and snow caps.
