Course Description:

Language and Literature is designed to introduce students to Latin & Greek word roots to help improve vocabulary and understanding. It also includes an emphasis on Grammar and its role in writing complete, well-rounded, interesting compositions. Grammar study will be incorporated through the use of Dailies and worksheets and personal writings. The American literary selections will explore a broad sampling poetry, short stories, essays, and novels from the 17th through 20th Centuries. It will be important to consider a variety of historical and cultural influences that generated the different types of literature for which America has become famous. Work hard, ask questions, do your homework, study, and we will have fun learning together!
