Students will read and analyze excellent journalism in textbooks, non-fiction, and periodicals ranging from local to worldwide sources. Students will become active, responsible, well-informed journalists. Students will conduct effective interviews, take effective pictures, print pictures effectively, and write effective news, features, sports and editorial articles. Students will complete a photo essay. Students will sell ads and prepare ads as well as layout the school paper using publishing technology.Students are responsible for online paper articles. Speaking and listening skills are honed through radio and video journalism projects
Second semester of this course becomes more production oriented.
